Are You Getting The Respect You Deserve?13 Sep 2016, by Psychic Readings, Psychics, Relationships, Spirituality in
Have you ever felt like you are constantly disrespected? Do you feel like every conversation you have is a battle or a fight to be heard? Sometimes we are simply faced with difficult connections, but a lot of the time, it’s our own behavior that drives this type of disrespect. Remember, you get what you push energetically. The below lists 3 reasons why you may not be getting the respect you deserve.
You Always Put Yourself Down
It’s challenging to be heard and respected if you are putting yourself down on a regular basis. Doing so will take away your credibility and open the door for others to take advantage of you. This behavior is also an indicator that some deeply embedded insecurities may still be ruling your emotions. Try to wash those away, know exactly who you are and what you bring to any situation. We are all experts in our own way, so be confident and share your thoughts, opinions and expertise with those around you. You will be surprised at how quickly other people change their perception of you.
You Are Too Quick To Give In
Compromise is a wonderful thing and necessary in many life situations, but if you always give in and go with what everyone else thinks is best even when you have a differing opinion, there is a good chance you won’t be heard in future situations. It also creates the perception of someone who doesn’t have ideas of their own and will cause others to treat you with less respect. This one is tricky, though. Sometimes we don’t want to openly share our opinion because we don’t have the energy for any conflict, but keep in mind, constructive conflict and open dialogue will always lead to the best overall solutions. Share what you believe, state what you feel, and give no bother if your idea doesn’t end up being the ultimate solution. Sharing what you believe is best will always help you to earn the respect you deserve.
Your Connections Are Not Healthy
If you don’t believe you are still battling with insecurities that cause the above two problems, then you may be surrounding yourself with bad connections. This happens a lot, especially to sensitive souls. We feel a need to rescue, to help, to be there for people, and to help others get back on a path that best suits them. While helping others is great, there are a lot of people out there who will begin to rely on you so heavily, they will start taking advantage of you. You will notice that their respect level declines and that they expect you to be there every second. If you can’t, then you will be made to feel as if you are a bad person when that isn’t the case at all. To maintain proper respect, always create boundaries and never let these situations take away from your own desires and needs. If you continue to experience this behavior even after setting healthy boundaries, then it may be time to sever these connections from your life. It’s not always the easiest thing to do, but it is better than constantly experiencing hateful and disrespectful comments. Do what is right for you and remember that you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink. If you have done all you can and are being treated poorly, then it’s time go.
