You Are Not Responsible for Anyone Else’s Emotions

04.04.2018 in Empowerment, Gratitude, Healing, Life Path, Life Skills, Personal Development, Positive Thinking, Spirituality, Stress Management

“Rather than being your thoughts and emotions, be the awareness behind them.” ~Eckhart Tolle

“I don’t believe you,” I jutted out my chin like a petulant toddler. Collapsing back into the tufted leather loveseat, I conceded, “I want to believe you, but I can’t.”

My therapist had just explained to me that I am not responsible for regulating other people’s emotions. My mind couldn’t process this truth.

There were too many decades of owning the moods of those around me.

In my younger years, if a parent was stressed,

3 Steps To Remove The Clutter From Your Life

04.04.2018 in Addiction, Empowerment, Gratitude, Life Path, Life Skills, Personal Development, Positive Thinking, Spirituality, Stress Management

By Advisor Jessica

Hello my name is Jessica. I have taken a clutter coaching course that helps you with your relationships, work environment, and so much more. I can help you understand what needs to be removed – almost like Feng Shui. Feng Shui is a Chinese form of balancing out energies which could be in a room, where you move things in angles and positions to regain balance. And also be more grounded. Also removing clutter helps the chakras and meditation.

When you de clutter a room or even space you make sure everything is put in the right place and everything should be spaced out.

Think You’re Not Good Enough? How to Stop Holding Yourself Back

28.03.2018 in Empowerment, Life Path, Personal Development, Positive Thinking

“Stop holding yourself back. If you aren’t happy, make a change.” ~Unknown

Growing up in a culture where physical beauty determines how successful you are in finding a job, a suitable husband, and a promising career, and most importantly, bringing honor to your family reputation, I was a disappointment to my family, especially to my mother.

She was the definition of a perfect beauty—5’6″, slim, big eyes, high-bridged nose, perfect skin, and gifted with charisma. I was the opposite.

As I got older, my mother’s negative words got louder and louder. They were a constant reminder that I wasn’t good enough;

3 Questions to Ask Yourself When You Feel Unsupported in Relationships

28.03.2018 in Empowerment, Relationships, Self Love, toxic relationship

Many of us feel we’re not getting the support we want or deserve in relationships.

Maybe we’ve never felt supported by our friends or family. Maybe we don’t feel supported by our peers or co-workers. Maybe we don’t even feel supported by our partner.

This can leave us feeling drained, tired, and unhappy, like we’re moving through life without much fuel to keep going.

During my adolescence and early adulthood, this was a huge struggle for me. I rarely found a place or group of friends where I felt like I “belonged” and,

Ending the Cycle of Breaking Up and Getting Back Together

28.03.2018 in Love, Relationships, Soulmate, Stress Management, toxic relationship

“As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live.” ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Almost all of my romantic relationships have had some kind of long ending. At some point I’ve gained clarity on the relationship, I’ve acknowledged the truth that it’s not working out, and then I’ve ended it.

I would like to say that was the end of the story, that I moved on each time with peace and ease. But the reality is that I second-guessed myself and ended up excusing all of my partners’ faults to justify giving them another chance.

4 Simple Ways to Improve Our Relationships, Starting Today

21.03.2018 in Love, Relationships, Soulmate, Spirituality

“My experience is that the teachers we need most are the people we’re living with right now.” ~Byron Katie

I never had a good relationship with my father when I was younger.

Sometimes he expressed his opinions in a rude way, sounding more like an attack than advice.

Many times he apologized after being rude, but I was too cold to forgive or listen.

The years passed, and I never made an effort to improve our relationship. It felt easier to deal with my mother. She was the one I always went to when I needed something,

8 Solutions for Loneliness That Don’t Require a Romantic Relationship

“People are lonely because they build walls instead of bridges.” ~Joseph F. Newton

The epiphany has finally occurred. Why on earth has it taken so long? I ask myself this as I look back on the last nine years, which I have spent trying to cover up my real issue. Loneliness.

After getting married at twenty and then leaving nineteen years later, it took another two years before I met another man that I fell in love with almost instantly. He told me from the very beginning it would never be a relationship,

How I Stopped Feeling Trapped in a Life I Didn’t Want

“Stop thinking in terms of limitations and start thinking in terms of possibilities.” ~Terry Josephson

When I was in my early twenties I was lucky enough to spend about a year living just a few blocks from the beach in Virginia Beach, Virginia, but you know what I remember most distinctly from that time? Sitting at a red light on the way to work one day thinking: I feel trapped.

To put it simply, I felt stuck in a life I didn’t want.

I had a college degree I wasn’t using.

I’ve Been Hurt Deeply Before. How Can I Restore My Faith in Relationships?

20.03.2018 in Healing, Love, Relationships, Soulmate

By Celestine Chua

Dear Celes,

I don’t remember how I found you and your blog. What I remember is how touched I felt when I read your series “How to Move On from a Heartbreak.” At that time I was in a similar ambiguous romantic-yet-not-in-a-relationship position that you were in with G, and successfully moved on from it. I posted a “Thank you” in response.

Now, three years later, I just moved on from a relationship that broke due to infidelity and betrayal

The Problem with Forgiveness and What I Now Do Instead

“Change is the end result of all true learning.” ~Leo Buscaglia

I cringe writing this. I have eaten so much humble pie that my pants don’t fit. This was a really hard lesson to learn.

I had a forgiveness problem.

When I was a kid, I learned to say sorry when I messed up and forgive other people when they did. With three sisters all two years apart, I got plenty of practice in as a kid (we all did).

It was a pretty standard routine:

  1. Someone would mess up—say something horrible,
